Monocyte and Macrophage Diversity in Physiology and Disease.
About SoMM2026
Interest
in myeloid cells—particularly monocytes and macrophages—has grown
considerably in recent years, reflecting their central roles in many
physiological and pathological processes. In this context, the
Macrophage Club of Toulouse (CMT) was created in 2015, bringing together
researchers from several Toulouse research institutes, including CPTP
(now INFINITY), IRSD, CRCT, PHARMA-DEV, and IPBS.
In
2016, the CMT organized in Toulouse a first scientific meeting
dedicated to monocyte and macrophage biology, in collaboration with
teams from Montpellier. This inaugural meeting laid the foundations of
what became the Symposium on Monocytes and Macrophages (SoMM). Since
then, SoMM has developed into a regular scientific event hosted in
several French cities, including Toulouse, Montpellier, Bordeaux, Nice,
Paris, Nantes, and Lyon, helping to strengthen the national community
through the MaCRO network.
The SoMM2026 edition, which will take
place in Toulouse, marks the 10th anniversary of this initiative and
returns to the city where the symposium originated. The meeting will
feature internationally recognized keynote speakers presenting recent
advances and emerging perspectives in the field.
SoMM2026 will
bring together established researchers and young scientists (PhD
students and postdoctoral fellows) in a dynamic and friendly environment
designed to encourage scientific discussion, exchange of ideas, and
presentation of new research through oral and poster sessions.
We
warmly invite researchers, students, and members of the myeloid cell
community to join SoMM2026 and contribute to this anniversary edition.
